SPRING TIME IN THE PALOUSE

Washington field workshop: 6/11/10 through 6/14/10
Critical print critique and workshop photography exhibit:TBA

Tucked away in southeastern Washington lies a majestic region of rolling fields and forest land known as The Palouse.

This paradise offers an abundance of photographic opportunities—from tiny towns nestled in hollows to magnificent pastoral vistas that continue as far as the eye can see. Subjects include sensual landscapes, rustic rural structures, spring wildflowers, abandoned vehicles and farm equipment, and much more.

The photography instruction and assistance you receive in the field will emphasize elements of visual design and how they are used to create the essence of an expressive image. Whether you are using wide angle, normal or telephoto lenses, an artistic interpretation of The Palouse is well within your reach.

This workshop is open to those with a working knowledge of their equipment and a basic understanding of photography. Any camera type or medium (film, slide or digital) is welcome. A tripod is essential. Please bring up to ten samples of previous work for sharing in group discussions/study sessions. Slides are preferred but 8x10 or larger prints are also welcomed for this session (however nothing smaller than 8x10 please).
